I've developed a series of pump covers for conveying food. The customer was facing the problem that after product entry, cavitation was occurring in sensitive products due to the abrupt change of the cross section which was significantly affecting the quality of the final product. This has been corrected by changing the inside contour in order to allow a smooth change of the cross section which resulted in a optimised flow behaviour. Thanks to the modified contour it has also become possible to implement a connection for a pressure sensor in the pump cover.
